Interesting kit and interesting attempt to reproduce pepperoni in a kitchen using an oven. The taste was similar to pepperoni but I was a a bit concerned with the sausage making method. My fan oven doesn't have any temperatures under 100 and all of the temperatures with this kit are below that. SInce this is a sausage made with raw pork I was concerned that I didn't know how well it would be cooked without going out and buying an in oven thermometer. Taste was ok but it didn't have the texture of the pepperoni that I have had in the past. I looked up traditional recipes and this wasn't really anything like them. Does that mean this was bad? No. It's just a bit cheeky to call this pepperoni. If you want a go at making a spicy sausage then go for it. I'm not sure that I would have a second go.
This kit is so much fun to do and the taste is sensational. I made using higher welfare pork mince and was much happier using that compared with buying ready made pepperoni where the animal welfare details aren’t apparent.
The kit is easy to use and makes lots of pepperoni- though it didn’t last long in out house! Highly recommend.
